1 month post

I know, I know I suck at trying to update abt Ayra. It’s just so hard to do, she is demanding enough and wants to stick with me (boobs) almost 24-7, and I try to follow the advice of doctors, professionals and everyone else; sleep whenever she sleeps. Though that doesn’t happen often enough, coz when else am I gonna bathe, eat, clean up, etc??? We are still trying to get into a routine here, but Ayra doesn’t seem to have one in mind. Not yet anyways. Perhaps after the 40 days is over. I hope.

As of today, she is 1 month and 4 days old. Yeahhh my baby’s a month old!!! As of Monday’s checkup, she weighs 4kg, is 57cms long (above average! We have a tall girl here!) with 36cm head circumference. Nice, though the doc says she should gain at least 1kg per month. Hmmmm. Other than that, she is healthy, save for some lingering yellow tinge on her skin and pimples/eczema on her face. She pees and poos fine, right colour, texture and amount hehehe. I’m still breastfeeding her exclusively save for the nights she was in hospital and the nurses had to top up, and the 1 single night I gave her formula coz she wouldn’t stop crying and paranoid me thought she was starving and my milk isn’t enough.

Her eyelashes are sooo long, so is her head full of hair. They’re curly when wet and almost straight when dry. Oh, her hair’s brown in the light hehe and so are her eyes! Though her looks have changed quite a bit she still looks almost exactly like her Daddy. She is definitely Daddy’s girl. She gained some flesh and looks healthier around the cheeks, drumstick and arms. She’s much stronger now, can kick herself up if u place her too low in the cot or if she uses my lap to push herself up. She can also hold her head up longer. I can differentiate her cries now, between hunger cries, uncomfy cries, painful cries, boredom cries or just ‘manja’ cries. Well, most of the time I can. She still hates to bathe and change, I think she’s still afraid of the water and will cry bloody murder; save for some occasions when she’s too full and stoned to care hehe. Another bonus, she can now smile!! Not the sleep-smile, but awake and looking at ur face smile! That milestone got me sooo happy I can’t wait to hear her laugh. She ‘talks’ a lot more now, cooing and making sounds when she’s awake. Oh, and she has longer quiet-alertness periods now, at least until she gets bored.

She has almost almost outgrown some of her clothes, some newborn ones and even some small 3 months sizes. That must be because of her long long legs and body. She still hasn’t failed to amuse us each and every day, and though tiring as it is and I sooo need sleep now hehe it has all been worth it to look at her face, smell her and kiss her all over, and watch her grow. *sigh*

In 6 day’s time the confinement period is over, and I can finally take her out!! Can’t wait for that! And we can finally drive around in the car without anyone making noises about me driving hehehehe. Things are only beginning for lil kiddo….

Till next time!
