So the ticker says kiddo is about 5.5 inches from crown to rump and weighs abt 7 ounces, with the bones hardening…. My, he/she is getting pretty big, almost as big as my 6-inch ruler hehehehe. It still is amazing to imagine kiddo tossing and turning inside me… By now, I can almost feel kiddo daily… past 2 weeks or so, every night, I will lie down flat on my back, put my hands on the belly, and just wait for kiddo to move… and there is almost a routine for kiddo’s movements… in the afternoon, usually when I’m having my lunch (it is easier to feel kiddo while sitting down, but then those can’t be felt externally on the tummy yet), late evening, kiddo’s most active at night, about 9+ to 11+, and very very early in the morning, when I am just about to wake up…
It’s a lovely lovely feeling, when those flutters become more pronounced, and I can start to differentiate whether kiddo’s squirming with the elbows, knees and legs; or if kiddo’s just swimming around and tossing and turning in my belly…. Daddy got to feel kiddo too, on some occasions, when kiddo’s kicking hard enough for Daddy’s rough hands to feel… I guess it’s harder for anyone else to feel the movement as I can feel them internally, making it easier to know when I can feel it on the outside.. Well, I am very sure in just a few weeks time kiddo will be strong enough to make his/her presence felt
Hard to believe I’m done with the 1st 4 months of this pregnancy… and in just 3 weeks time, kiddo shall be halfway through! My goodness how time flies….But I shall say that the past 1 month, my belly has expanded the most so far… I bet the difference between last month and this month will be amazing! In the morning when I wake up and before I eat anything, lying flat on the bed, I will just stare at my weird-looking belly… coz it will dives in between my ribcage and the belly button, but right beneath it, the tummy swelled till the top of the vagina. From my view, it looks V-shaped, and very very hard indeed. Some days, I can even tell which side kiddo is sleeping in hahaha coz it will be significantly bigger on that side compared to the other..
My little kiddo’s having the fun of his/her life, swimming all around my womb. And before even making an appearance, is already making me smile and laugh every time I feel kiddo move.. I’m starting to feel the tightness of my tummy especially after eating and late at night.. the skins is stretching and pulling to make way for kiddo. It gets itchy too at times hahaha. It’s also hard and taut to touch, making me sometimes feel that it’s going to explode hahaha. So, by now, if I wear fitting clothes, there’s no mistaking me carrying a baby in my womb… And I have started gaining weight!!! Yeay!
Being jobless for the time being, with some allocated money to spend on clothes, of course mommy is having the time of her life hahaha, coz I can’t wear my regular clothes, but still am too small for maternity clothes. But lemme tell u, there’s never been a more fashionable time to be pregnant, well depending on your budget of course. For me, as of now, there is hardly a single store I go into that I can’t find anything I could wear. It just depends on how long I plan on wearing it hehehe. The trend nowadays is more towards the japanese/korean style, thus long stretchy loose-fitting tops, ribbed tanks, lycra material, babydoll tops and wraparound dresses, cotton tops with extra space at the tummy for normal people to hide their not-so-flat tummies are ALL a blessing to me. I’m soo having fun scouring shops, stores, flea markets and warehouses for things I can wear (and look good in) at the best prices in town… u see something u like at an expensive store, if ur good, patient and u look hard enough, u can definitely find it at another place at the fraction of the price! Those yoga pants with oh-so-comfy material are also a blessing for me, as I can’t fit into my pair of size-24 jeans now hehehe.
It’s sooo much better to shop at regular stores rather than maternity shops, believe me, coz maternity clothes are sooo expensive!! AND the style’s limited. Boo-hoo. Perhaps I will only buy maternity clothes for work and only wait for the year-end sale to start scouring . Great timing kiddo! I am pretty sure some of the clothes I bought will last me throughout the 9 months, with all the space at the tummy provided. Well, IF I don’t bulge too much. All value for money, as I can still wear them all even after pregnancy!!
So leave it at that, this happy mommy having fun NOT working at the moment, feeling kiddo growing fast inside her, and going around shopping and scouring for good deals. The ONLY down-side is, I’m STILL having the all-day sickness
And I can’t wait for the vomiting, nausea and headaches to end, but I am taking it all with a pinch of salt
As long as kiddo’s healthy, I am a happy mommy-to-be.
